A 5-minute drive from Bassenthwaite Lake, Ravenstone Manor is an 19th-century manor house set in 3 hectares of ground. The property is at the foot of Skiddaw, overlooking Bassenthwaite Lake. The room was as we expected, with great views. Breakfast, dinner, cheese platter with our drinks upon arrival as we traveled the whole day, a perfect start of our stay. The staff was as friendly and helpful as always and when we had to book an extra night last minute we got the large family room which, although not the great views, you do get red robbins on your windowsill to wake you up which we loved. Hoping to come back again in September.

Set in 5 acres of woodland gardens, The Mary Mount Hotel is set on the shores of Derwentwater. With countryside views, rooms are en suite. There is also a restaurant and free WiFi throughout. We were joined for lunch by relatives and we were celebrating 60 yrs of marriage. Our lunch was delightful. Friends and a family member joined us for an evening meal and I was somewhat disappointed with the meal especially the Sticky Toffee pudding which was pure delight at lunchtime and was served with raspberries and blue berries. The evening Sticky Toffee Pudding had no fruit on and was served with a skimpy amount of sauce - I was disappointed too with the Chicken.......It was a super special night and I was disappointed with the evening meal.

Lovely hotel with beautiful views over Derwentwater and Catbells. Friendly, helpful staff and very attentive. Clean and tidy. Comfortable beds. Quiet location and only a few minutes walk into the town and down to the Launch on Derwentwater. Breakfast was lovely and I thought the dining room was professionally set out with the placement of the tables, so that you are not overlooked by other guests. Would definitely recommend and will definitely stay again. It's a 10/10 from me.
Keswick
The hotel and grounds were far more picturesque than we anticipated and it is perfectly situated in Keswick with an easy walk into town and to the start of most walks and Derwentwater. Our room was lovely and although not modern and up to date perfectly reflected the building and its surroundings and everything worked and was clean. The restaurant for breakfast was great and there was more than enough options with a lovely view across the lawn.

Lovely farmers arms pub in the village for a meal also Derwentwater Hotel we didn't eat here but had a wee drink.Chalet cafe in village for lunch or meals until 5pm lovely scones .while on the walk round the lake you come to Mary mount Hotel had lovely lunch in there.
The staff were friendly and welcoming on arrival, and the hotel itself was beautifully looked after. I was kindly given an upgrade to a bigger room (East Turret) which was really warm and comfortable with stunning views of both the mountains and Derwentwater. Breakfast was included in the room price and was delicious, set me up very well for a full day of hiking!
The staff at the Derwentwater Hotel were by far the greatest asset to this establishment. There was a small team doing the work of a much bigger team. Each staff member seemed to have at least three jobs! Even though the team was under pressure, every single staff member was helpful and pleasant. They are incredible. The breakfasts were tasty.
Very comfortable hotel. Nice and clean with lots of places to sit and relax. Food very well presented and tasty. Staff very friendly. We had our dog with us who was made very welcome! Great location for the Derwentwater walks.
Excellent location - right in the middle of lovely Keswick and a short walk from beautiful Derwentwater. Great breakfasts which we enjoyed in the conservatory.

Everything really well equipped kitchen comfortable large bed provisions of tea towels towels shampoo body wash plenty of toilet rolls flannels washing up liquid dish cloths tin foil sandwich bags cling film. Nothing I needed to buy. The view from Catbells Suite is awesome
Artful full English breakfast. You will be asked if you would like the black pudding, and you should say yes. Keswick seems to have a lot of similar B-n-B operations going. I can think of no reason to look further. Lovely hosts.
Owners were very friendly and accommodating,check-in was very easy and rooms very lovely, warm and clean.
coziest little cabin! fully functional too. perfect location with peace and quiet and the occasional fighter jet flying past. the animals on the farm were an absolute added bonus. i LOVED staying here
