We spent one of our days at the outdoor pool which was kept at a great temperature it was very clean and has comfortable loungers. I had several spa treatments- hammam, facial, nails and all were great!

Absolutely great place to rest if you traveling trough Bulgaria. Very close to the Greek border. Clean rooms with clean towels and bedsheets. The owners are absolutely amazing we had a issue with our cars air conditioning and the owner personally took the boys to a mechanic shop to fix it. We asked for coffee in the morning and they made the most delicious latte and espresso for everyone and told us it’s on the house we don’t need to pay. Absolutely great great good hearted people Thank you Igor and wife 🤗 you guys are the best hosts

Blagoevgrad is a nice little, quiet city.The city is situated in a mountainous region and has a beautiful nature. Food is good a cheap, nice place to get away from city hassle but can be a bit boring if you visit for too long. Must visit is a campus of American University in Bulgaria.
We just spent one night here to start our mountain hiking from Rilla Monastery. It takes +/- 40 minutes from Blagoevgrad City Hotel to Rilla Monastery by taxi and cost 20 euro.
Rila Monastery was incredible and travelling there is very affordable. We went in january so come prepared for cold weather and I imagine that it is abslutely breathraking in the spring/summer. Blagoevgrad city center has a nice array of restaurants and nigh spots and you can walk along the river. Nice mixture of city and quaint.
Its a university town so there are lots of bars and cafes, and there are some real gems amougst them . The shopping is reasonable and the walk up the river to the city park is a delight. We were skiing in Bansko for a week and then spent one night in Blagoevgrad: next year we may base ourselves in Blagoevgrad and drive to Bansko ( an hour ) as the food and nightlife is not only much better, but also half the price. And its a deal warmer for any non-skiers.
Blagoevgrad has a lively pedestrian center. There is good shopping and nightlife if you want it. Other locations offer more quiet. The city is close to the Rila Monastery and the mountains. My favorite was the Monastery and hiking. The city is easy to get around but parking can be limited and you need a cell phone to pay for parking.
Value-for-money short trip for cheap-budget shopping and walking around Sunday which is a freeday in Greece, but there in Blagoevgrad everything was open.. Great Shopping Mall (Largo) and the square above Neofit Rilski University.. You can also take some pictures of the Mosque, and the traditional soviet leftovers you can see everywhere
