Kals am Großglockner
Very comfortable property in a non-touristy location at the bottom of Grossglockner Ski Resort - ski bus at the door, lots of winter/summer sports options, friendly community. A well-stocked little supermarket is only a short stroll away and the bakery delivers fresh bread to the apartment each morning according to your order. Georg is a fabulous host; enthusiastically sharing his love and knowledge of the area, and offering us his help when we needed it. We feel like we’ve made a new friend and we look forward to returning to Kals soon!

Very close to everything as right in Heiligenblut. 2 min walk to the fab Dorfstub'm cafe restaurant. DISC TOLL TICKETS FOR THE TOLL ROAD TO THE GROSSGLOCKNER LOOKOUT. & Tunnel walk. (Don't miss this!} Central to biking, trekking, skiing {in season} Picturesque drives, plus more. Such a wonderful place. Stay at least 3 - 7 nights. We couldn't squeeze it all in with only 2 nights. Enjoy! 😍
Great location if you are exploring Grossglockner Alpine Road. Dinner and breakfast were very good, beer as well :) There were board games available for family and friends to spend time, as there is nowhere to go there and nothing else to do after dark. Room was OK, facilities and parking as well. Hotel is located after the toll, so you have to spend the day on the road, even if the weather is not good (or come another day and pay the road fee again)
Kals am Großglockner
Our stay at Ferienhaus Alpina was terrific. Kals am Grossglockner is a great place with beautiful hikes and views. The breakfast definitely lives up to its reputation and the house is clean and in very good condition. German comes in very handy. For dinner we can recommend the Gamsalm (we liked it better than the Ködnitzhof), or the Gourmet restaurant in the Wanderhotel Taurerwirt (though they were only open 3 days a week). Reservations often a must!

Usually, I stay at bigger Hotels, but we rediscovered, how great it is to stay in a family-run hotel. We appreciated the host, location, fantastic view, sauna, cleanliness, and restaurant for dinners. The bus stop to Heliigenblut/Grossglockner ski area was actually in front of the ski depot room. Wifi worked excellently in my room. If we come back to the region, we come back to this accommodation!

Amazing place to stay, unfortunatelly we had just one night and weather was not good. We could not arrive on time due to trafic problems but lady from reception made late check out for us. Room was nice, calm and quite spacious - on the ground level so easy to move luggage there. If you wanna go to Grossglockner, this place is almost there. Big parking place in front of the hotel.

Outstanding location, convenient for staying before/after traveling through Grossglockner hochalpenstrasse. Great staff, traditional Austrian exterior and interior design, great traditional food on site, feather blankets and feather pillows in the room. I was allowed to put my motorcycle inside owner's garage, and to do basic maintenance there.
We chose this hotel for 2 nights on a motorcycle tour because of its location at the foot of the Grossglockner Pass and a pass to ride this toll road was included in the room price. Off street parking with no charge. We had breakfast and dinner and both were good, the trout was very fresh, straight out of the tank! Attractive rooms with balconies.
Very clean functional and accommodating hotel located on the road to the GrossGlockner pass. Easy access and restaurant located on the premises. Bar located next door and alternative restaurants located close by. Small town ,close to hiking. Parking was on site and staff was very helpful and friendly. Wonderful breakfast included. Karin is a wonderful host and we enjoyed meeting her. We really enjoyed our stay near the beautiful Grossglockner mountain. The apartment is very cosy furnished. Books and decoration really give you the feeling you are in at home instead of a apartment. In addition, the view on the Grossglockner makes you want to stay!

Everything. The owner greeted us with a small gift basket and some drinks. The locations is great, just outside the village center. The apartment is clean and beautiful. The kitchen is well-equipped, The bathroom is nice. The WiFi is fast and reliable. Our room had a direct view of the Grossglockner mountain.
Location was excellent for an early start on Grossglockner. The surroundings were great. There is a cute waterfall 10 min walk from the hotel. The ping pong table was a bonus. We have not used the restaurant on site, so I cannot comment on it. However it was packed when we got there at night.

Perfect location to access the Grossglockner which enabled us to spend most of the day there. We requested a large room and we got one. Lovely hotel and everything spotlessly clean, and a good breakfast. Despite not offering evening meals, the Hotel Poste next door had excellent food.
