We had a fantastic short break at this absolutely gorgeous place set in beautiful, peaceful countryside. Nuno and his staff were all very attentive and friendly, and the accommodation was well-equipped and spotlessly clean. We travelled with pets, so it was useful that the plentiful breakfast and dinner were brought to our own accommodation. We would highly recommend Quinta da Dourada to anyone looking for a peaceful escape. We hope to come back one day.

Great room in a lovely old building that genuinely was built as a palace. Good location for a stroll into the town centre. Off street free parking in the grounds of the hotel was much appreciated. Wonderful breakfast!

The location is beautiful, my request for earlier check in was allowed and I was given a quick tour of the place. There is a pool and Portalegre is just a 7-8minute drive away.

It’s family run business. They have old vineyards to take care off and are doing great job. I would definitely recommend tasting/buying their wines, they are quite differrent from mainstream. We arrived at Casa do Vale for one night, mainly to see the forts in the nearby town. This is a rural and isolated accommodation complex, very quiet, clean and well-kept, the owner of the property helped us a lot to find the place, the rooms were beautiful and well-decorated. The complex has a pool, but it was too cold to go in and the valley where the complex is located is simply picturesque and stunning. warmly recommended.

The hotel was really amazing. It is an old Convent and they still have some amazing pieces all around the hotel. Great location, breakfast buffet with fresh products, lovely bread and fruit salad. The host noticed that the scrambled eggs were empty and made us some fresh ones. The pool is fabulous, and I had a little swim before breakfast :-) We were completely relaxed after our stay. It was so serene... no stress...watching the stars with a G&T on the terrace...We will certainly be back when we are in the neighborhood.
The setting looking out over the hills and the country, swimming pool, close to beautiful places to visit, large suite, and lounge and veranda were lovely to sit in. Aleida was delightful and very helpful .
Incredible historical property providing a quintessential Alentejo experience. The property despite historical/old is very well kept, and you can see how much attention to detail has been put by the (very kind) property owners in every corner. The swimming pool is absolutely outstanding, merging perfectly into the Alentejo background, giving a sense of freedom and harmony.
The property itself, which is architecturally very an attractive mix of old and new and it’s position in a beautiful mountain area with fabulous views. The facilities are first class: rooms, luxurious common spaces and swimming pool. The host is also a winemaker so that is an extra bonus. Very friendly host and staff. Overall a relaxed and convivial stay.
The staff was amazing, the breakfast was quite complete, and the swimming pool and spa area sure provides some nice moments.
Super well localized, right in the center, easy parking, and excellent value for money.
Spatious apartment with nice and shady balcony, in the countryside. We were here as a family and the kids especially enjoyed the swimming pool in the garden. The location is perfect to explore the beautiful towns Castelo de Vide and Marvao.
