The view from our room was stunning. The cabin was perfectly positioned, designed and laid out to maximise the view over the harbour.
Our room was immaculately clean and when we had a look (nosey) at the other facilities on site, they were the same. Decent selection of kitchen supplies. It got very cold the nights we stayed, which the room catered for by supplying blankets, heaters and electric blankets in the main bed.
Its nicely positioned on the edge of town, a short walk away. Although coming back up the steps was a bit tough!

The short answer is that my hosts Anne and Jack made my stay here just the best. Their warm hospitality went well beyond my expectations. I loved the lovely linen bedding and decor as it made the cottage feel so classy. The kitchenette had all the supplies I needed for light meals over my 4 day stay too. One of the best things is location. It was an easy walk to town and all the points of interest. (Try stargazing with Luca or the exquisite tea room with Kate.) Waking up to the early morning bird song each day in this garden setting will be among my fondest memories of the Summerhouse in the garden.

These hotels offer a great way to keep active during your holiday without having to hit the gym. Indoor pools allow you to practice your backstroke come rain or shine, whereas outdoor options allow you to relax on a sun lounger after swimming a few lengths.
Stunning location on the waterfront - could hear the water lapping overnight. We sat on the balcony in the morning and fed the birds! Spacious apartment for the family and comfortable beds. The lady in reception was super helpful and brought an extra heater and recommended places to eat. The Madeira Hotel pretty much opposite did great great food and we liked the local pub feel. My kids loved the outdoor pool table and chess set. Lovely little town and a shame we were only there one night.

We ended up having to go home as the reason I chose this place was so my daughter could swim in the pool however it wasn’t finished being renovated. My fault for not checking but I assumed as per usual there would be a tv but there wasn’t, overall not a very teenager friendly place, lovely lady & beautiful view though!
Excellent location. Clean. Staff very accommodating. Love the extra facilities like giant chest game, pool table, plenty of kayaks and bike hire, lots of outdoor space to enjoy bbq food on sunset and great companies. Electric blankets are saviour.
The location is easy walking distance to the town centre. The summer house is separate to the man house, with a walk through to the swimming pool, which was a nice surprise. The bed was very comfortable and the room quite spacious.
Everything about this place is beautiful. The house has a relaxing design blending indoors and outdoors perfectly. Gael and Brenden were wonderful hosts. From the moment we arrived they were taking care of us and were incredibly welcoming and made us feel instantly at home. We spent the night in the hot tub and woke up to the best breakfast we have had during our stay in NZ. This is an unforgettable place and was a lovely place to stay after our engagement. Thank you Gael and Brenden, we hope to come back soon!
Beautiful space in a beautiful location. The garden was well looked after and we spent lots of time in the hammock over looking the sea. Sunset in the hot tub was the highlight of our 2 night stay. Cookies on arrival and a comfy bed to sleep in. We saw dolphins swimming in the sea from our window. The host was a lovely helpful man too. Couldn’t recommend this stay more.
