Highly recommend for many reasons. Price, proximity to matera, spacious room, and incredibly friendly staff! We took the cooking class with Chef Filippo assisted by Ana and we had a blast! He is an awesome person. The pictures don’t do this property justice. The entire property grounds are stunning.

This is a beautiful and chic hotel and spa. It is a restored historic mill. The hotel was still getting ready for the high season when we were there. Once the new fountains, terrace and swimming pool are up and working it will be absolutely terrific. A spa treatment is included in the reservation. The rooms are very nice, beds so comfortable I had the best nights sleep of my whole vacation in Basilicata and Puglia. It is only a 15-20 minute walk to the old town of Matera, and a 5 minute drive to the Belvedere Murgia Timone where you have a wonderful view of the Sassi and the ravine. The hotel has on-site parking which is very important to us; the staff is very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable, and it has a state-of-the-art restaurant serving haute cuisine by a recognized chef. This is was the most memorable and best hotel we stayed in during our time in Italy, and we plan to return in the near future. A “must stay” during your visit to Matera.
