All chalet's at Mohua Park do not include a TV. Our cabin, Kaku, surrounded by trees and birdlife, overlooked rolling green fields dotted with sheep and the surrounding hills. It was so peaceful. Within 2 minutes walk were magical forest paths lined with magnificent tree ferns, crown ferns and undisturbed vegetation. The cabin was beautifully decorated, and contained books on the area, games, a well equipped small kitchen with a barbecue on the balcony. The old house on the estate was built in the 1920s and creates a feeling of timelessness. The owners helpfully supplied local history and tourist information and were so welcoming. We would have happily stayed longer in this unique oasis of tranquility and nature and would recommend it to anyone who appreciates these special qualities.

Hilltop Accommodation Catlins is set on farmland beside native forest, overlooking Papatowai and the Southern Scenic Route . Guests experience stunning ocean and valley views, from our 2 historic homes. What an absolutely beautiful setting. The house is nestled in the fields and lots of curious sheep to watch over you. We loved it, we had everything that you would expect with so much old world charm.

The location was good. It was just a short drive to Kaka Point and the restaurant. The beach was in walking distance. Nugget Point Light was a short drive. Owaka was about 15 minutes away. Tips: If you are arriving late, buy your groceries in Owaka. The grocery store in Kaka Point is not open in the evening and it doesn't open until 12:00 noon the next day. Also, the restaurant in Kaka Point is closed on Sunday and Monday. It does not serve breakfast since it doesn't open till 12:00 noon. There are cafes and restaurants in Owaka that serve breakfast and are open Sunday and Monday.
