Great location for what we needed, dog friendly, lovely walks around the grounds Comfortable rooms, staff friendly and attentive, set us up the conservatory for our breakfast and meals so we could have the dogs settle better, nothing too much trouble, great value for money. VERY dog friendly (£20 charge for stay), good Ground floor room with own outside door. Comfy Queen bed, room made up each day. Excellent shower with lots of very hot water. excellent location near the Shropshire Union Canal for walks, on the A41 for car travel. Plentiful parking. Dogs welcome in the GF rooms, water bowl provided, own doggy menu, dogs welcome in bar seated area. Breakfast pay as you go menu for as little or much as wanted. Good food menu for rest of day, popular with locals. Great staff, nothing seemed too much trouble.
Location perfect for us, as we were stopping to take a break on a long drive on the M6 from Scotland to London. Travelling with a pet dog and this hotel was perfect, pet friendly room complete with dog bed, bowls and treats. Amazing gym, fab swimming pool and lovely grounds for a walk. We had breakfast at the restaurant which was elaborate and tasty.
The hotel were advertised as being pet friendly. They are the only place we have stayed that seemed extremely welcoming of dogs. There was a goody box in the room for our dog, water bowls by our dining table and the staff all made a fuss of our dog. Fantastic.
The best bit was that the dog friendly room Had a dog bed, bowl and treats in there so the dog was well catered for.
The Lodge, Staff and Location was all perfect. We was told where to go for Food, day out etc. The Plough was excellent for a meal out and very dog friendly. We went into Leek on the Saturday Morning and they had a antique market and we then travelled onto Bakewell and that was beautiful place to visit and very busy with lots of pubs, cafes and the dogs that we saw (loads) all friendly to pet you and your dogs. :) :):)
Very close to where I wanted to be, good parking, pet friendly and expansive areas for dog walking
The staff were amazing. When they say dog friendly they really were, offering dog treats and making her feel welcome. We had an issue with a local taxi firm but the staff were brilliant with us apologising for the taxi's incompetence. The staff made the stay a wonderful experience.
