Dating back to 1860, The Dog in Over Peover is in the heart of the quaint village. This typical village inn offers a restaurant and a pub serving real local and national ales. It has free Wi-Fi throughout and free private parking.

What a lovely, super dog friendly place, amazing staff, great food, comfy, spacious yet warm and cosy. Hospitality at its best. We were welcomed so warmly and treated so very well by all. The most enjoyable stay one could ask for. We were extremely well fed and watered with delicious food and cocktails by the most friendly, delightful staff. All our requests were accommodated with ease. Charlie dog had a fantastic time too, he had so much fuss and his very own treat made for him, they are sooooo dog friendly. The rooms were very warm and pleasant, I appreciated the pretty cups and saucers, real coffee etc. They also smell wonderful, seriously the nicest smelling room I've stayed in. Very comfortable beds. Nice furnishings. A nice clean bathroom with walk in shower and lovely soap that didn't make my skin react, for a change, much appreciated! Breakfast really was excellent as was the coffee. I cannot recommend this place enough. There are nice little touches everywhere that set it apart from the norm. But the staff here, they really are wonderful. A home from home but with far better food and hospitality!

The staff overall were great, however one member of staff in particular I did not like whatever,he was the Manager of the cleaner team, on more than one occasion I was woken by him shouting top not down the hall, I appreciate that he couldn't work out which guest was smoking in their room, but that doesn't mean that he should be bellowing in a threatening tone with his high pitched tone. I also met him once in the first week when I had asked him were I should put the bag of rubbish that I had, instantly he got his back up and asked if one of his staff had left it, no pal, but if that's how you're likely to be with your staff you need sacking. Other than that, I was really happy,I was there for a month in total whilst looking for a new place to live, the staff behind the bar were great also, one lady in particular was really attentive and made me and my dog Benji feel really welcome.

The staff at the Rose & Crown were very friendly and welcoming. The pub itself is right on the main street, in a central location, with free parking in a small car park just behind. The highlight of the stay was the meal that we had in the pub that evening, which was to a very high standard. We appreciated the fact that the pub was dog-friendly throughout.
