Lovely quirky cottage with a good amount of space and a good garden. Tea, coffee, milk and biccies was a nice touch.

Amazing location. Beautiful cottage with parking . Dog friendly with plenty of walks from the doorstep. Good communication with owners pre stay. Everything clean and well presented. Plenty of hot water (it is very hot so take care!). Lovely big bath sheets 😍
Great location, great food, super dog friendly. The cosy small living room area with the TV and board games by the fire is a nice touch. Our 3rd year visiting Wye Valley but first time staying at The Royal Lodge - it was our favourite place to stay so far so we'll be back!

The location is beautiful, the lodge is clean, well decorated and comfortable. The evening food was pricey but very high quality, all the staff in the restaurant & reception were extremely friendly and accommodating.
Room was a good size, shower was very roomy and a gorgeous deep bath. I love that the lodge is pet friendly too!
great character building located in Forest of Dean and dog friendly. excellent food albeit cooked breakfast was on the small side though the cereal/toast buffet compensated
