I booked really late, for a Sunday / Monday night in mid October. The cottage owner had prior to that spotted the opportunity of a gap in bookings and made some plans for minor work around the cottage. She handled the situation beautifully so my stay wasn't affected and the work could be done, she even came over and made sure there were no issues. I'm grateful she accommodated my stay and didn't make this into a big deal. The cottage was beautifully warm, the duvet was lovely (I tried to find a label on it when I removed the cover at the end of my stay to see if I could find a similar), pillows were comfy. I loved the quirky layout, with one of the entrances straight into the bathroom on the first floor. The kitchen had everything it needed, and in the lounge area there were so many choices of lighting (I'd brought crochet projects with me so was happy to be able to direct light). The pub was really close and on a chilly but sunny Sunday thriving with people while the sun was still up. I walked to see the site of Pilsbury Castle, and of course there's Chrome Hill and Parkhurst Hill on the doorstep.

Wonderful house in a beautiful village. The beds/pillows are extremely comfortable and the bathrooms are spacious & stylish with lovely soft towels. The house was lovely & warm thanks to a hive heating system and log burner. The key safe is easy to use & we had a couple of messages from the owners who seem very friendly & helpful. We had read that the kitchen needs renovating, and we saw a comment from the owners in the visitors book which said they are hoping to do that next year, it will be amazing if they do, however we managed perfectly well with it as it is. We cooked both nights, and it is very well stocked with utensils, pans etc. The owners had left milk, cake & biscuits which was a very nice touch. The patio/garden is beautiful.

This is a little gem. Our second visit here and could not fault it. It has been refurbished to a really high standard and the welcome pack with bread, milk and butter is a nice gesture. Great location for walking and nearby pubs. Property has a secure garden which is great for our dog and splendid views across the countryside.

It was dog-friendly but very clean, with no doggy smells due to the owner's careful requests to use blankets on the furniture for the pets to sit on. Big garden for the dogs to run around in. comfortable beds. The sunroom is a great addition full of lovely touches like dog towels, bowls, and dog treats. It's great that there is parking. We had a wonderful stay and loved the property.
