We loved the location and the friendliness of the staff. The rooms are large and spotless.
The lady on reception with the coloured hair, sorry I didn’t get her name, was one of the best receptionists I have ever met. Nothing was a problem and she had a great sense of humour. A credit to the hotel.

What a pleasant stay. The hosts cooked a brilliant breakfast and the hotel was large and welcoming. I would definitely stay here again. It is very close to the ferry to the Kintyre Peninsula so if you are heading in that direction, it's worth staying here. There is also a nice restaurant nearby called the Country Inn (or something like that), which had a great village feel.

Perfect location on a quiet street but not even a minute walk to the front. The place was spotless and had everything you needed for a lovely stay. Decking area to sit in was great. Would definitely recommend this place

The youth hostel is in a fantastic location. Parking was easy. The lady on duty was lovely. It had everything you need and it was clean. It’s a great youth hostel and has everything runs well. We appreciated being able to have our dogs there too and it was nice to have outdoor seating. The sunset over the castle with two stags in front of it was the icing on the cake!
Butt Lodge is in a superb location and has a lovely homely feel as soon as you walk through the door. The hosts couldn't be more helpful, kind and informative and the cooked breakfasts and evening meals are just superb. We had 2 dogs with us who were also made welcome and it was great to walk out to stunning countryside and coastline.
Lovely stay and in a great location. Really good for wildlife spotting - red deer, red squirrels and golden eagles. Cooking facilities spot on. So peaceful. Loved being able to bring the dog.
Location was stunning. There were deer wandering next to the hostel. We booked last minute due to cancelled Ferry and had never stayed in a youth hostel. We were pleasantly surprised by the space in the family room we had, clean showers and toilets and a huge kitchen /dining area and lounge facilities. It is also dog friendly .
Beautiful lodge in a stunning location. Owners were welcoming, friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast was amazing and Cath was chatty and attentive!
Dog friendly too which is what we were looking for!
Warm friendly welcome, very comfortable room and superb meals. Well located for walks/dog walks alongside the golf course and near the beach. 10 minutes from the ferry.
