The room was lovely, big and airy with an outside seating area which was a lovely surprise. The bathroom was huge and provided some really nice toiletries. The pub had a great atmosphere and we enjoyed our evening.

The birds House was clean and warm.ideal for a winter short break. They are dog friendly and made no fuss about the dog. Saying that we alway clean up anyway.
This hotel was absolutely pet-loving and I applaud it's hospitality towards my two dogs. The ground floor is a restaurant/pub that serves all three meals wonderfully (hotel guests get discount!), and there were outdoor seats as well as parking. The room I had was spacious and really comfortable. Without a car, it's not convenient to get to. The hotel was able to book a taxi to ferry me to and fro Manningtree Station.
My husband and I were there for our anniversary and work and we had a lovely time. The front of house staff helped him with a little surprise in our room for our arrival. The food was amazing (hats off to the chef), the bar staff and servers were lovely, the rooms were spacious and comfortable and it is a dog friendly pub, so even though we missed our pup back home, we still got to meet lots of cute pups. The bathtub in room one is worth every cent.
Good location, close to facilities but with lovely surrounding countryside. A very good base to explore the Dedham area which is very beautiful.
The Bird House is perfect for couples and has all the facilities required, for us shorter stays rather than a long period. Very welcoming for dogs, and a little garden area leading from the living room. Thoroughly recommend!
Attention to detail was amazing , selection of teas and coffees for us to use , a homemade cake and dog treats and dog bed complete with toys next to the fire . On arrivals the lights were left on for us which was welcoming .
