The guys who worked there were friendly and helpful and very welcoming. The food was delicious and came really quickly which was great as we were eating before going out to meet friends. The pub had a friendly feel. The pub was well set out downstairs and upstairs our room was clean and well equipped with a nice bed, coffee/tea and ensuite shower. It was excellent value for money.

Its a fantastic location near the River Chess in beautiful ancient countryside, great with a dog as the grounds and connecting 'Chess Walk' couldn't be better situated and for running. We changed rooms to the old house, bigger room with dog and quiet. Vey warm in rooms in summer but fan helped a lot. Staff very helpful. There were 3 weddings whilst we were there but didn't bother us - its wedding season mid summer! Would really like more history on the house and the Latimer history, before WW2.

Beautiful surroundings with a nice little village/town very close by for food & drinks. We had our dog stay with us & the hotel provided us with a luxury dog bed, blanket & bowls for her at an extra cost of £30.

We were looking for a pet friendly hotel near Rickmansworth / Watford and this location was ideal - it is set in spacious grounds which meant we could take the dog for a long walk through the woods - there was even a 'Pet Wash' station outside the restaurant in the main building. The pool was great, better than the average hotel swimming pool.
