This is a gem indeed if you are in Manzanillo - Cahuita. Off 2kms from the coastal road, but no uphill , doable w/normal car. Breakfast tableware, service, food 1st class like Hilton or even better. We took the Belvedere house, has a terrace, w kitchen and tea/coffee amenites. Host family provides service above expectations. Small pool. Tour reservations. Charming landladies. 7 hectares hilside garden with fauna. Absolutely recommended.

The villas are very well equipped to cook anything you like! You can tell the person in charge cares about maintenance and does a good job at it. The pool was cleaned everyday, I asked for more sheets and towels and they were provided right away. Communication was excellent and easy via Whatsapp. Highly recommended for a group of four or family with kids. Very private, you can hear the monkeys howling and all kinds of birds chirping. Close to all main beaches (Cocles, Puerto Viejo and my fave, Punta Uva).

We cannot say enough about our stay at Casa Luce. My partner and I came for first time to Costa Rica, with very little information about the area . We are lucky to have chosen this place. We walked to the quiet & beautiful Playa Negra every day (5 mins) and bikes are available for rent for getting to town. It felt like perfect distance - far enough to be peaceful and secluded, but close enough to ride into town for a meal, or come home late night after drinking at the bars. The facilities are spotless but it still feels cozy to cook in, hang your clothes or come home sandy from the beach. You can meet others staying there or keep to yourself - the balconies help with privacy. We spent many nights hanging on the porch, talking, drinking wine, playing chess. You can hear local wildlife but it’s not too much to sleep or relax. We saw two sloths while staying there too! The rooms are cozy, the ac works really fast. Most importantly, chiara and ry are exceptional hosts and humans. We arrived with heavy hearts after a long few months and they hosted us like we were family. They are perfect mix of professional and personal. We always felt our privacy was respected, but they were always available to us if we had questions or needed anything. They went above and beyond to help us get to our next destination and when we had an emergency there, quickly accommodated to let us return and stay a few more nights. We are so grateful!! Thank you
