Breakfasts and dinner were very good even if the later was a bit expensive for us UK residents! Alexandia was extremely helpful in arranging transport on Easter Monday for the four of us before we we had arrived and her mother went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable and a success. Would highly recommend this Gasthaus for its service and warm welcome.

Within a 30 minutes' walk from Bienenberg you can reach the Schauenburg castle ruins, the ruins of a Roman villa, a petting zoo, the city of Liestal and the Liestal train station. A shuttle service from the Liestal train station is provided on request.

The location is beautiful, right by a forest and some lovely trails and fields (perfect for dogs and humans alike). It also has a beautiful view. Staff were super friendly and flexible with us and our dog. Dinner at the restaurant was delicious (the best sorbet I ever had for dessert!). Room was extremely clean, bed and bedding super comfy. Yes, the room is stark (especially for the price), but being there feels much better than the pictures, it has a sort of calming/soothing effect and lets nature outside shine in through the many windows (we had a corner room, no balcony).
Arlesheim (Near Büren )

The restaurant is authentic and wooden cozy space which feels amazing. Although the breakfast does come with limited options for such a Hotel but the quality of most products are really good. for example cheese and milk and range of breads seemed local. You are also asked for the omelette options which is nice ( It was the best eggs I had in a hotel). Also there is a buffet in each floor of the hotel with drinks and snacks which is free and was helpful as we checked in late and no restaurant was open in the area. The only things that I wish were better in the breakfast was the juice as it was not fresh. Also, during mid day, the smell of boiling red meat was all in the common area , but not in the room I must admit.

Great little hotel with great pizzas and a fantastic music venue attached. The room was very comfortable and the access to decent coffee, bottled water and snacks was most appreciated. All printed material is on German, but everyone spoke good English and made me feel at home. Very popular place to eat, so make sure you book a table.
Dornach (Near Büren )

Staff were efficient and friendly but not too effusive or invasive. Coming and going made super easy - every one in a good mood- a beautiful atmosphere to be part of.

Location, cleanliness, our Host Marc Marles was fantastic! he was extremely welcoming and very accommodating in every way. the breakfast buffet is fantastic! I can’t say enough about this little gem. If you are ever in Basel you must stay.
