At this moment the UNEXPECTED WOW just started. The interior is very stylish, a nice mix between Portuguese urban chic and Scandinavian style. In almost every corner you will find some nice and personal details. THE ROOFTOP, it's so beautiful there! During our stay we checked out some rooftop bars and for us the Three House has the best in Funchal. Even if you are not able to stay at their hotel you need to enjoy some sundowner drinks there and then have dinner at their restaurant - a wonderful culinary journey through the world (make sure you have a reservation, especially on weekends). Before we arrived the team sent us a welcome message via WhatsApp - nice easygoing and personal communication. They offered us to arrange a transfer, which was a nice service. The team always made sure we were feeling comfortable and sometimes they left personal notes in the room for us - it was so sweet. The hotel and the room were always super clean. Every morning they left us (guess at 9am) a little bag with some fresh and warm pastry at the door. So we started every morning in bed with croissants, espresso and a stunning view above Funchal - how amazing is that?! And the location is perfect, you can reach everything by foot. So if you want to go to Funchal and they have available rooms - book it! Dear Three House Team, THANK YOU SO SO MUCH for everything. Saccharum - Resort & Spa is a luxury 5-star design hotel located on Calheta Beach, between the mountains of Madeira and the Atlantic Ocean. This hotel features a rooftop infinity pool, conference rooms, a buffet and an à la carte restaurant and four bars. We had a beautiful room with seaview. We stayed 4 nights and used the hotel as a base for excursions in the area. Even the sand beach is only 10 minutes walk away. The breakfast is excellent and offers a lot of variety. The rooms are big and have a little kitchenette, which we found very convenient.

The 4-star Aqua Natura Madeira offers elegant rooms with Atlantic Ocean views in the fishing village of Porto Moniz, 45 km north of Funchal city centre. It offers a sauna on site.

Each accommodation is elegantly decorated and includes tea-and-coffee making facilities, a minibar, and a balcony with sea views. All rooms have a seating area with a sofa. Receptionists were very helpful, answered all of our questions and made us feel welcomed! The room was stylish, exceptionally clean and well equipped. We even had complimentary champagne in the room! That was really a surprise. The room had balcony with magnificent view to the lava pools and ocean, we saw the sunset from there as well. It was so nice to fall asleep when listening the ocean waves. And the breakfast was just superb! Large variety of fresh dishes and fruits. Whenever visiting Madeira again, we will definitely come back! :) It was the best accommodation we had during the week (stayed in 5 different places).

The view from the room was great but rooms on the higher floors had better views. Breakfast and dinner were both great. Staff were great.

Set on Madeira’s South Coast, Ponta do Sol has a stunning infinity pool and hot tub with panoramic views. The location is amazing, great view on the sea from the room, the terrace and the restaurant. Very quiet area and comfortable room. Very good breakfast and restaurant. Nice crew.

Casa Da Piedade’s rooms feature wood furniture, as well as a TV and telephone. Each private bathroom includes a walk-in shower. First of all, the hosts were great. Rubina welcomed us so warm, and was really helpful throughout our stay. We even got a welcome treat which was a great touch, especially queijada which was an intro to the great pastry that Madeira has to offer. Even before our arrival hosts offered to help us with a rental car which we accepted. The car company they connected us with was great and we got a car for a considerably lower price than what we could find online. I would say a car is almost a must for this property, especially considering its position - you can reach a lot of parts of the island easily from it. In addition, there is a lot of parking space on premises. The house and the room were really great. Everything was clean and the beds were really comfy. The room had a nice colorful vibe. We did not use the garden that much but it looks peaceful and nice with a swimming pool. One thing I would recommend are the restaurants near the sea, especially Caravela (try lapas grelhadas!). You should definitively visit Poncha De Sao Vicente as well and try one of the best poncha we had on the island.

The newly renovated 4-star Hotel Baía Azul is ideally situated a 4-minute walk from Funchal’s beachfront. It offers 3 swimming pools, 3 restaurants, a Spa and a sun deck overlooking the Atlantic Ocean and the gardens. Everything. Definitely worthy of 5 star status. Excellent service, location and facilities. Will definitely return.

This restored Madeiran mansion is located 900 metres from Funchal's Old Town and has scenic views of the sea, the city and the mountains from its own botanical gardens and terraces. Free WiFi and free covered private parking are available. We missed our connection flight and arrived to the hotel in the middle of the night. Despite the time, Nuno welcomed us with a smile and very patient explanations and made the start of our trip in Madeira very pleasant. Also the rest of the staff was very nice, attentive and helpful. The rooms are spacious and beautiful. The hotel's garden is gorgeous and has a nice panoramic view of the sea and was the perfect place for breakfast. Breakfast was excellent with large variety. It is highly recommended.
