The water was very soft, so only a small amount of soap or shampoo was needed. It didn't feel like we were intruding in someone's home. It felt more like a mini hotel with a fair amount of privacy for coming and going. Also, we had a ground floor room where we didn't have to drag suitcases up, which is hard being older adults. The stay was very enjoyable.

Each morning, Laura had scones or some other baked good heating in the oven. Heating your own food for dinner or eating take out was an option, too, which we took advantage of one evening. Our room was very beautiful, modern, and cozy with a very comfortable bed. The whole place was spotless. Laura suggested restaurants and places of interest off the beaten path. She was a gracious, thoughtful, wonderful host - some of the best hospitality on our month long trip! Thanks for everything, Laura. We loved our stay with you. Highly recommend.

Situated 8.7 km from Maeshowe, the property features a garden and free private parking. the scenery was amazing. the location is quiet and calming. we had a very relaxing stay in the lodge. the sheep were so cool and cute. my little toddler really loved watching them. everything was clean and comfortable. the host was super nice and patient. they gave me the code to get in the lodge soon after i booked the lodged but when i landed in country i was not able to pull up the conversation in the app. however she was so quick to respond and check in was smooth even after all the tech problems. we will definitely stay in lillys lodge when we come back in orkney.
