The sister hotel, the Zula Hotel, is a minute's walk from the beach, we visited their restaurant on the recommendation of the Mahali owner, the Wakushi Band performs there on Mondays.
Zula is really Mahali's sister, wonderful people work, the food is fantastic here too!

I had an amazing stay at this hotel! The hosts were incredibly helpful and friendly, and they even allowed me to check in early, which was such a nice gesture. They provided great recommendations for restaurants in Paje, which made exploring the area so much easier. The staff was most friendly, professional and the happiest I have ever encountered in a hotel in Zanzibar.
We were greeted from the parking area when we arrived and escorted when we left, including the manager.

The price was very cheap, consider this structure if you want to save budget (but don’t expect top services).
We liked the bungalows and the pool area, there was also free guarded parking available and the owner and staff are really nice. Beach in front of the bungalows is super Rocky, but neighbouring hotel made a concrete path into the clear water so that was great.
We had a very nice stay. The reserved area of the beach is very useful to be relaxed few meters away from the house. The staff was amazing from breakfast preparation to room cleaning and providing everything we needed. Car parking very close from the house.

Clean room, secure parking, Aircon and hot water. They kindly shifted our dates due to Covid and government travel bans during Christmas (as did all of the 3 other hotels we booked for this trip at the same time), HOWEVER did not tell us that we would be downgraded from a deluxe to standard room on the new dates. If we knew this we would have planned our stay on a different date, as this room has no terrace or balcony, no fresh air at all and it’s not what we paid for.
