We had a great time at Al Sarmadi Desert Camp! Mr. Said, the manager, and his team went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable. Everything felt like a very authentic experience - the food, the dining area, etc. Mr. Said is very friendly, and takes time to know all his guests and interact with them. Highly recommend staying here.

if I could give a score of 15 I would. Our host was wonderful from start to finish. We got excellent directions, when we arrived his son showed us where to park. Our host then met us and we had drinks and fruit and relaxed for a few minutes. We then went on a sunset camel ride up the dunes - highly recommended. He then took us to the camp site - and even drove our car up the dunes for us. We relaxed for a while and then he brought us a delicous dinner. It was quite windy and chilly so we appreciated the warm tent and comfortable bed with good quilts to keep us warm. The bathroom was nearby, with a flushing toilet and a sink and shower. In the morning we had fun climbing the dunes to watch the sunrise, and then enjoyed a delicious breakfast with Badr's two adorable girls helping him to serve. He then helped us drive out of the dunes. It was one of the highlights of our two weeks in Oman, I would recommend it to anyone as a very authentic Bedouin experience.

An amazing desert experience. There was one member of staff who slept overnight, who cooked a great dinner and breakfast for us in a Bedouin tent. The following day we had a Bedouin guide who took us further into the desert. He managed to find a variety of reptiles and mammals by following tracks and digging in the sand. We saw a lot more than we expected to and was very interesting to talk to somebody who actually lives in the desert.

Rooms were comfortable, good food and evening entertainment. Walking up the sand dune behind the property was tiring but, one gets rewarded with picturesque views of the dunes and sunset. We did not opt for any of the activities the property had to offer. We were quite content with what the property had to offer. We stayed one night after a long days drive and were pleased with the relaxing environment.

Thousand Nights Camp is a really fantastic resort in a pristine part of the desert. This is definitely more of a resort than a camp. The "tent" rooms have hard walls, A/C, and attached bathrooms with hot water and complementary toiletries. The beds are so comfortable and the bedding is superb. The location is a short climb away from beautiful and remote sand dunes - so peaceful. The resort had a kids play area with playground, foosball table, pool table, trampoline, and a little nook where they played kids movies at night. There was also a camel for the kids to take a short ride for R5. The pool was small but quite cool and perfect once the day got a bit hotter. We took our 4WD car using the complimentary escort to the resort, which leaves at 1 pm from the Shell station in Bidiya. I was glad we took the escort since there are several road options and it could be easy to get lost. I would recommend getting the escort in. We only stayed one night, but the resort and sand dunes were so peaceful that we definitively could have happily stayed for two nights.
