It’s a wonderful historic house in the village of Grootschermer with all amenities. Location is perfect for car and especially bike trips throughout Northen Holland. It’s secluded and peaceful but within 5-minute drive to De Rijp where there is a super market and good bus connection to Amsterdam Central (2x per hour). There are a number of good restaurants ( in Grootschermer, Noordeinde and De Rijp) and lots of sightseeing attractions. Marianne ang Gijs are the best hosts! Wonderful warm people that make you feel at home.

Spacious and right in the old town, close to a supermarket. Spacious kitchen and we enjoyed cooking here. Highly recommend. Owners live around the corner and responded quickly. We stayed for 4 nights and room was serviced halfway.

So the concept of an online checking, an online key and a staff less hotel seemed a tad odd at first, but in reality it works wonderfully well. The location is absolutely fantastic. You're smack dab in the middle of Alkmaar yet you're slightly off the beaten path so there's not too much noise at night. The rooms are very spacious and the beds are great.

The host was extremely helpful and responsive. The room was as exactly as described and very comfortable bed. I loved having the cheese cellar there, made me popular on my Instagram! THE welcome package foods, coffee and wine were really useful to me as I had a busy schedule and could have quick breakfast in the morning, relax with wine in the evening without buying supplies. I loved walking from this apartment to all sites in the city - relaxing and beautiful views everywhere!
