Such a charming hotel! The staff were so helpful. The guy at reception helped me sort through my onward journey and booked a taxi for me well in advance, so I could leave in a timely manner. The hotel is in a nice location in the main square. There are good breakfast options— some hearty options, along with some lighter ones.

I was drawn by the reviews from other travellers and decided to stay here. I am so glad I did! Max and Martha are the best hosts I’ve come across so far in Central America. They are so helpful and want to make sure their guests enjoy staying in their place. We have conversations over breakfasts and other meal times. I also had conversations with other travellers who were staying there. The room is spacious, has the facilities as shown on the photos. It is basic but I have all I need. Considering the amount I paid, it’s more than a great value! Thank you Martha and Max! See you again in a few days.

Aarón and the other staff at the family run hostel were so incredibly kind and helpful. I feel like my friends and I came in so chaotically with all these different questions and plans in mind and he helped us to arrange everything and was so patient with us and all our last minute requests. (Conception hike guide, taxis, private tour guide to drive one of us around the island and take her to different spots for the day, plus Aarón drove us to and from the volcano) It’s located not too far from the supermarket as well as some pretty good restaurants, although it’s a little further away from the ferry port than other hostels in the town (10-15 min walk). Plus there’s unlimited filtered water to consume. The beds were decent and there were clean towels provided. Unfortunately, although we asked for an AC room, the AC wasn’t working but we were given two fans for our room of three ppl. That didn’t end up mattering too much bc of a blackout in the town our first time, but the fans were certainly sufficient the second night! There are comfy hammocks outside where you can lounge as well as a communal kitchen and fridge.
