We loved having our delicious breakfasts with Rosa at Bar and Trattoria Scarpone. Scrumptious chocolate cornettos, coffee made to order. Warm and friendly welcome from Rosa. We also had 2 fabulous dinners there. The restaurant is above the bar. The studio apartment is modern and in a central location. Free parking is available about a 5 minute walk away. Michele provided good communication about exactly where to park.Castelmezzano is a wonderful town in the most beautiful location.

A beautiful rural escape right in central Basilicata. With lots of short trips to nearby Hilltop towns and hiking possibilities it'sa great base. We had a perfect, although very short stay here: quiet and peaceful. Although this is our fourth visit to Italy we had the very best breakfast ever. Home baking with organic eggs etc. I'll leave it to your imagination until you get to savor!

Pasquale and Elisa have the most wonderful property on the outskirts of spectacular Castelmezzano village. Both the village and the accommodation were a highlight of our trip to Italy. The apartment we stayed in was exceptionally clean and well-equipped. There was great attention to detail, and a superb breakfast was supplied. We enjoyed sitting on the outdoor terrace, admiring the peaceful outlook, once the heat of the day was over. The hosts were communicative and very helpful during our stay. We highly recommend you stay here!

It was a great little place to stay for the night! Such a pretty village to explore, and this was in a great location right in the middle of the main street! Everyone was very nice and helpful and we had everything we needed for our family of 5!

The host Michael received us in the nicest way possible. We are 5 nights in Italy, and here we had the most fun! The place feels like home, the hospitality is just perfect. The sleep was perfect. The jacuzzi is pampering. There really isn't a single bad word. I don't usually write reviews, but this time I felt obliged! thanks Michael

Hostess was very accommodating; baked us a cake! Good location. What a gem of a town. You have to walk your luggage to the property but that is the same for all properties in the no car zones.

We had a fabulous stay at La Locanda! The property is in a fantastic location, just 100 metres from where non local cars are allowed, so your taxi or car is not far away and you don’t have to carry your luggage far. the hotel is also close to the bars and other restaurants and the supermarket. The rooms were spacious with lovely fresh linen and soft towels and a comfortable bed. Plenty of hot water and good shower pressure. The view from the balcony was amazing. We sat out there often just appreciating where we were. The hotel also has a fantastic restaurant attached to it and we ate there twice for dinner and twice for the breakfast, breakfast was included in the hotel price and was ample. For the dinner menu, everything was made in house by the chef who uses recipes passed in to her from her mother and grandmother, delicious food and good servings. Delicious traditional food. Of particular note, the service at the restaurant by Salvador, was outstanding. Salvador went out of his way to ensure our every need was met, including assisting us to find a transfer to the Amalfi Coast from Castelmezzano. he knew the hotel, menu and surrounds intimately and has been working at La Lucinda for 20 years. His English is very good and he was very professional and friend,y. he made our visit just that much better. Thank you Salvador. We have no hesitation highly recommending this hotel to anyone wanting to visit Castelmezzano.

Fantastic app, cosy and spacious, with all the facilities, two bathrooms, very nice feeling in the app, great view, helpfull owner and cleaning ladies. Very nice village, start of ferata and “Volo del’Angelo”!
