The loveliest home in Crete, we enjoyed every minute we spent here. A very comfortable and clean house, lovely places to sit outside and enjoy the views, aromatherapy when you are in the yard surrounded by lavender and rosemary bushes, plenty of space, quiet and peaceful village, a wonderful host that makes you feel like you are visiting a friend. A car is a must, but the house is very close to Chania and a 20-minute drive away from Peristeras beach. If you consider staying here, you will love it.

Absolutely beautiful family homestead, lovingly restored into a gem hidden in the hills of Crete. Hosts are lovely and super helpful and engaging. AC in every sleeping area. Gorgeous indoor and outdoor spaces to gather and chill and meals and drinks.

We've just returned from a weeks vacation at Orientem Heated Pool in Crete, travelling as a family of 4 (2 adults and 2 children aged 6 & 2). I don't think I have the vocabulary to adequately describe just how amazing our holiday has been. The villa was absolutely immaculate with everything we could ever require as a young family being catered for - and even if it wasn't, we had the wonderful host Maria offering to assist us in anyway possible should we need it. We've stayed in many villas over the years but have never come across a host as engaging and as helpful as Maria. She regularly surprised us with local treats such as Olive Oil, Raki, Wine, Sweets and Home Baked Cakes! She welcomed us on the 1st day with a platter of Greek specialities and then on the final night she gifted us her personally harvested Olive Oil and a freshly baked cake. We truly did not want to go home and we are already looking if we can go back to Crete, and the Orientem Villa at some point next year. The sunrise over the bay was one of the most incredible I have ever seen. The whole family awoke early to view this and we were emotionally blown away by it. The pool, while a little cooler than some villas we have visited, had a really useful 'kids' area where they could play in relative safety without having to have an Adult in the pool at the same time.

The house has been renovated to a very high standard and is immaculate throughout. It is full of traditional style and very tastefully furnished. There is much evidence of the generations of family woodworking skills. Cretan hospitality welcomes you. All the rooms are comfortable, spacious, light and airy. The roof terrace is a wonderful place to sit at any time of day or night with superb views of the surrounding mountains. It is just a short 2 minute walk to the central square with tavernas offering excellent food. The host, Andreas, is very friendly and helpful, speaks English and has a wealth of knowledge about the village and Cretan life.

Wow, just Wow! Manuela was just the most authentic and wonderful host - she was always ready to help us out with questions and provided service and a genuine kindness above and beyond expectations (this actually really made our stay - along with the view of course!). The villa and pool are every bit as stunning as the photos! The main bedroom is in a seperate section linked by the stunning arch and pool, and the interiors were super clean and new although they retained the charm of an older villa with stone features. Practically, there were so many areas for us to relax and enjoy and the aircon was modern and quiet with netflix TV if we wanted. We drove to some restaurants (you do need a car), but we actually enjoyed staying and eating in with that epic view! So much to see locally... don't hesitate to book!
