Squirrel Barn is a fun and eccentric place which genuinely caters to the whole family (and more!). It is a beautiful old building filled with anything and everything you could think of, with wonderful little touches and a really warm feeling. We were in the area to visit Alton Towers and to be honest we had just as much fun at Squirrel Barn! The owners are fantastic - friendly, accommodating and excellent at contact. I stayed a few years ago and didn't enjoy my time. However, with all the new improvements it is a much better experience. They have put a lot of effort and time into renovating a once dated hotel.
The Indian restaurant and cocktail bar are both out of this world and provide an incredible mixed evening of entertainment.
The continental breakfast was good value for money, and the bar was nice and quiet with a good selection of alcohol and soft drinks.
Not too mention there was free parking!
It was close to town and handy shops. Well placed for walking and room for car parking. There were lots of maps and brochures about the area . The hosts were kind and hospitable. Nothing was too much trouble.
The hotel is within walking distance to the town centre. Shops are close by.

The location of the Stone House was ideal for our needs. 30y ago I used to live in Stone and the SHH was the best in Stone. Today we chose the hotel for the location and the car parking.
Our room was ground floor with French doors onto the garden/picnic area which was well kept. We used this access as our 'front door'. Plenty of free parking. Quiet area. Easy, walking, access to Stone town centre.
