The hotel location is special .. remote and beautiful with lovely grounds to walk around. The hotel is quirky and old with a lot of stairs but we enjoyed that uniqueness. The 2 best things were the staff - who are always lovely and very professional - and the food - which is EXCELLENT!

The owners and facilities were great. Nice touches with communal tea/coffee/milk and the lounges were very cosey. Shared bathrooms were very clean and showers were good.

Wow, such a superb location. Comfy beds, immaculately clean rooms. Previous reviews do not reflect the new management and they are and have been striving to improve things which is evident. Menu for food is not extensive and its continental breakfast with eggs which we found sufficient. Staff were absolutely brilliant, warm.and friendly I would deffo go again...our dog loved it too.

It’s central location and the history attached to the site. Rooms were very comfortable.
One of the biggest headaches when driving to your hotel is finding a convenient place to park, so these properties are on hand to take the pressure off. Options range from secure underground car parking, to safe spots within easy reach of the hotel itself.
The estate was unexpectedly large, the room was good with a comfortable bed. Loads of parking. The breakfast was great, huge portions and plenty of choice. The bath was extra long, which may or may not suit everyone. Decor a bit tired but in a grand manner. The staff were very pleasant.
