a beautifully maintained historic inn in a lovely village. we were warmly welcomed and stayed in a very comfortable well appointed room. the hotel bar and restaurant were superb. we stayed two nights and had all our meals in the hotel. breakfast were superb freshly prepared with plenty of choice. we had two dinners - one in the restaurant the second in the bar. menu is varied and interesting. all the dishes were nicely presented. we loved our two day stay and can’t wIt to go back.

Really excellent communication throughout and made our special occasion extra special with lots of thoughtful touches- a card and some other treats. Nothing was too much or too little to ask from the hosts. The space was very clean and cosy and though small and minimalistic as expected, had amenities required. Location was a perfect jumping off point for Dartmoor national park. Jane was very knowledgable and helpful in recommending where to eat (we loved the Railway Inn) and what to do. Room was big, beds comfortable, and it was exactly what we were looking for in our English countryside farm stay. The breakfasts were delicious, especially the bacon and sausage which are meats from their farm and were like no breakfast meats I have ever eaten! Fresh juice from their orchard in our room refrigerator was a nice touch, also very delicious.
