Perfect stay at The Lion — the room was spacious, clean, in keeping with the age of the pub, and bed was very comfortable. The food was really great - we had dinner and breakfast and both were superb. The steak pie was delicious! Mark was such a great host. He helped organise a taxi to the wedding we were going to which was a big help. We’d love to come back one day.

The young lady waiting on in the Indian restaurant was very friendly and efficient. The food was very tasty and good value. Other staff were friendly but didn't appear very experienced.

lovely, good value for the money, lovely dining area
Right in the centre of this lovely little town, the location could not have been better. With ample free parking outside, it wasn't an issue that the hotel car park was full due to lots of events happening in the town. Great room. We booked a 'cosy' and this was much larger than many places we have stayed in - the bathroom was huge and very well appointed. Lovely comfy bed and home made cookies as well.
The hotel is located on the Main Street and has car parking available and guaranteed.
We had breakfast included in our stay and it was really good. You choose from a menu of cooked options and either a coffee, tea or juice for drink option.

Very central in the town. Parking is free in the pub’s own car park round the back. Food was good and staff very friendly, they couldn’t do enough for us. Decent breakfast.
We had an excellent stay! The rooms and beds were super cozy and comfortable, and spacious rooms. It was great to have free parking right out back, and the town is just lovely! So quiet! Bridget was an excellent host - great hospitality including a welcome drink upon arrival. Very delicious breakfast! Highly recommend!
The location of the hotel was really good in the centre of shipton on stour. Free parking was available which is good but the car park is very small meaning people were blocking each other in.
The number of pubs and restaurants close to the hotel was nice to have the various options available. It also provided a good location for our distillery tour we had booked.
