Well.. where do I start! Fantastic hotel - nestled in the heart of Grasmere. Fab location, transport and stay.
Beautiful king room, clean and comfy. The staff - Sarah, Amber, Rhian and Ben - were super friendly and welcoming, and most definitely the best staff we’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting. I rang up ahead of time to request a little surprise for my partner’s 30th birthday, and they set up champagne and fresh chocolate strawberries in the room, without hesitation. They even signed a card and left chocolates. Hugely appreciated and made our stay very special.
The room was just stunning. We had the river outside the room. The hotel in general is modern, tasteful and spotless and the breakfast, afternoon tea and coffee was excellent.
Nothing was too much to ask or do, and you were greeted by smiles, laughter, guidance and support every morning, noon and night.
They really went above and beyond - thank you, team! Our new spot for years to come, without a doubt. If you’re looking for a place to stay in grasmere - look no further - you won’t be disappointed..

The Spa facilities are fantastic. You can just about have them all to yourself if you get down there for 8am.
Breakfast was superb with plenty of variety and all well prepared.
We were upgraded to a starlight attic room and if we ever stay again we will book that next time.

The breakfast was superb, location really good, friendly staff, local sweets given as a gift on leaving, setting was romantic, local literature in room was great and helped us make choices, wouldn't hesitate to return.
One of the biggest headaches when driving to your hotel is finding a convenient place to park, so these properties are on hand to take the pressure off. Options range from secure underground car parking, to safe spots within easy reach of the hotel itself.
Lovely cozy pub in a beautiful location. We had a lovely night here with a walk each day. For somewhere so close to Ambleside it is very remote, and there is little parking in the valley so feels very peaceful
Beautiful place inside out! Breakfast choices, car park, staff, room! Everything 10 out of the 10! Walking distance to the Cathedral cave and other walking routes around! We enjoyed!
This is a beautiful little inn, with friendly staff and delicious food. It’s right in the middle several beautiful hikes and has parking spaces for its guests.
Everything was lovely, the staff were great, the food was gorgeous, the bedroom furnishings and bathroom were all lovely, and actually looked quite new. Car park on site. Walks all around in any direction. And unusually good weather!!!!
