Location was spot on, we also booked the comedy night whilst there which was thoroughly enjoyable, food was excellent, very pleasant staff. Old traditional pub no jukebox, no TV, no pool table. Open fires. Dog friendly.

This is our 12th(!) stay at the Wheatsheaf - we absolutely love it. A great location in a beautiful little village, and a good base for exploring further afield - plus lots of scenic walks. The rooms at the Inn are clean and very comfortable, the breakfasts are excellent and will set you up for the day, and I would recommend trying the meals as they are just so tasty! The steak pie is a favourite, and the fish and chips are just delicious - but do book as it can get very busy.
We've stayed at many hotels and Inns in the UK - some hugely expensive ones too, but for us, the Wheatsheaf is up there among the very best, which is why we keep returning!

The location was beautiful and scenic. The trails for walking were easy to find and great for a wander. The room was large and breakfast was good.
