Gorgeous hotel, in a beautiful location. Our room was lovely, very clean, and extremely comfortable. Excellent shower in our room. Mark, Megan, and all of their colleagues were very polite, efficient, and attentive. Food was great. Met lovely people in Climbers Bar & on the outside terrace. Very dog friendly. Lots of parking spaces. Great value for money. We can't wait for our next visit.

The ODG is situated in one of the most idyllic locations the UK has to offer. It offers a good selection of local ales, with a familiar, but well prepared selection of meals. Friendly staff (special nod to the breakfast team who were great), basic, but comfortable and well kept rooms, with free on-site parking for patrons of the pub.

Location perfect for walking/hiking - any number of great walks right from the front door. Breakfast excellent. Room and bathroom excellent. Parking excellent. Staff very friendly. Hotel having staffing problems, so a reduced dinner menu (3 choices per course - with repeats). While the location is wonderful for walking the hills, it is isolated at the end of the Langdale Valley, so accept that before you go.

Lovely spacious and quiet room, beautiful grounds surrounding the hotel and perfect location for hiking. A hearty breakfast. Parking on site. The adjoining pub was a bonus for a cold pint and something to eat after a long day hiking the hills. Other than some hiccups with the meals and the housekeeping, we enjoyed our stay.
