The Mews Apartment at Daviot Lodge is a beautifully appointed, self contained apartment just big enough for a couple providing both peace and privacy. It’s set in picturesque green fields on a lovely semi rural property approximately 8 miles out from Inverness. The owners were on hand if we needed and delightful and easy to deal with. They had generously provided a welcome basket of goodies and some basics in the pantry/fridge. In addition to the comforts of the apartment we had the delight of meeting Dougal and Boris, the property’s two highland cows, and the ‘King of the fields’ a pheasant who I nicknamed Charlie! Many of the main attractions in the area such as Culloden Battlefield and the Clava Cairns are just short drives away making this a perfect escape. The apartment is accessed by a flight of steep stairs so may not suit everyone if mobility is an issue.

An amazing experience. The directions to reach by the host, as it can look a bit remote and not according to sat nav. The place is very clean with complete privacy. The hot tub is really good and placed in the balcony with complete privacy, overlooking the river with nice seating and added lights on trees for extra touch. The place is really nicely done, with details to the minutest things like plates, fork, spoons, cups, knives, barbeque, microwave and even female toiletries. The toiletries are of high quality, with the whole range of shampoo, conditioner, body wash and lotion. There is a good range of coffee and teas with even coffee beans if you want to make your own fresh grounded coffee and French press. We loved the whole stay. One place you actually want to come back to and spend time there rather than visiting the attractions nearby. The hospitality of the hosts with the message and giving their phone number for any issues is an added touch. I would love to come back here whenever visiting Inverness.

Maria at the front desk was our primary contact. She was awesome and took care of our every request. Hotel is located in a quiet semi-rural area but only a couple of miles from a Tesco shopping center. Room was exceptionally comfortable and clean. Breakfast was great. Service at dinner was very good and room service was quick. We experienced no negatives. I would recommend without reservation. I would add that I spent 17 years in hospitality management with Hilton and Marriott. My expectations are high and I hotel was awesome. I would agree that the location is best if you have a rental car.
