A wonderful place with a most lovely and wonderful host: this cottage is prepared with much love and attention to detail. The owner clearly has a passion and joy for hospitality. The place is extremely well equipped and the host/owner is only a short message away if anything is missing. Arrival was easy and early check-in was possible which was much appreciated after a red-eye flight! We came as a family and there were toys for our little one, a fantastic outdoor space to play safely, a toddler cot and everything inside conveniently arranged to make everyone comfortable. It was such a lovely and relaxing stay, we will come back as soon as it is possible for us. Thank you for making this stay so memorable for us!

My partner and I stay here for 7 nights, and I cannot fault it at all, clean room, lovely breakfast, we also ate in the restaurant the food was very tasty and not that pricey, all the staff were lovely and extremely helpful and made us feel very welcome, as did the locals, I’ve never visited a place where the people are so friendly. There is a real sense of community in this place, and it reminded me of my hometown. We both slept like babies every night, the bed was really comfortable This place is a little gem, right in the middle of the places we wanted to explore, Beamish 8 mins away, Whitley Bay 30 mins drive, Holy Island 1hr 30 mins, Newcastle 38 mins on the bus, the bus stop is directly outside the pub, catch the number 21 bus price was £5.10 return. We spent nearly every night in the pub, and you could see how well it was run, so big shout out the manager and all the staff. They were on the ball, tables cleared and wiped down straight away, they worked as a team like clockwork. We thoroughly enjoy are stay here and it was lovely to meet everyone.

Working in Durham and was let down on another property and found this house at the last minute it is a clean and tidy property. looks like a new kitchen and bathroom have been recently fitted. only had two minor issues and when contacting the owner these were resolved the very next day.
