Ambleside Townhouse is a lovely accommodation. The staff was attentive, friendly and helpful. We had a spacious, quiet room with comfy beds and a nice view. Especially in the evenings, we were able to enjoy the sunset. The breakfast was delicious, especially the pancakes and sourdough bread with scrambled eggs and salmon. We enjoyed fantastic hikes in the area.

The location was ideal for exploring the natural beauty of the Lake District, with easy access to roads, trails and lakes. Tarn Hows was close by and simply quintessentially English countryside at its best! What truly set this B&B apart was the genuine care and hospitality of the hosts. I stayed 3 nights in a single room. Wanslea Guest House is close to the piers of Ambleside and also close to the city centre. From the backdoor starts a beautiful hike to Wansfell Pike. The room was clean, bed was comfortable and the bathroom was nice. You get to choose from a breakfast menu the day before und they also have cereal. The breakfast itself was delicious! The owners were really nice and so helpful, gave recommendations for hikes and if you need anything, they'll make it possible. Parking is free and you get discount for some restaurants in Ambleside.
