What made this stay so special is that it felt like coming home but being spoiled at the same time. Dinner was made while we forgot to reserve it. After a day of sight seeing we were welcomed with drinks and little snack. Everything on the site is correct, but it is difficult to describe this service. While other spots were ok, this is a place I would love to return and will recommend it to anyone staying in that area.

This is a lovely property, a barn conversion with a a really rustic, French feel, tastefully decorated and well-equipped. It's not high-end, designer spec, but I'm not sure that would work here - something of the charm would be lost. The gite has it's own outside space that is entirely private, whether to sit and eat meals or drink a cold beer, while watching the butterflies. Though only 0.6km from a busy main road, it does feel as if you're in the middle of nowhere. The small town of St Saveur de Vicompte is 3km down the road with requisite patisseries and Super-U and we found it a good base for exploring - you're equidistant between the two coasts and it's easy to get around. Our host, Ray, was lovely too - thoughtful and helpful but never overbearing or intrusive.

We have spent two very nice weeks in La Bergerie. The accommodation and the surroundings are nice, the hosts hospitable and the cider delicious. For all those who want to spend a quiet holiday in the countryside, absolutely recommendable.

An excellent stay in a spotless little house. The host had provided a cot and bath for our baby daughter without any extra charge. The house was very clean, had everything you need for a short stay. On-street parking was easy. The shower was large and had a nice massage option. Highly recommended stay!
