What a lovely stay! After a long day of travelling across England and France, I arrived in Vierzon wondering how to get to Mennetou-sur-cher. I was running late and worried about the time to check in. It was after 8pm. I rang the host and she was so friendly. She explained she lives close by and not to worry about how long I would be. After a short taxi ride, she came out when I called again and met me and showed me the house. It was delightful. There was an outdoor seating bit, and then upstairs a modern and well decorated house above the anique shop. Feels very French! Opposite is a cafe / shop, over the road and along a bit is a patisserie boulangerie and 1 minute away is a crepe place cafe overlooking the river. Very well located. Picturesque. I was staying here for a wedding in the Chatea de la Plaudiere. On check out, I telephoned Virginie (the host) and she came out straight away to collect my keys. Fantastic communication. I found out that I was the first person to stay in the house through Booking.com. I was honoured to be the first guest. Lovely place to stay. Recommend!

The gîte is very nicely done, very cosy and spacious. The garden is exceptional, with comfy seating areas. It is large and completely private, which was not evident from the property description. Nice spa facilities - sauna and massage (at extra cost). The area is very beautiful and very quiet. A lot of routes for hiking and cycling, nice river and a canal nearby, good for river fishing. Nice villages nearby and some chateaus. The host is very helpful and has thought of everything possible to make it comfortable, easy and homely for the guests. Thank you Xavier!
