This was a really exceptional experience. The restaurant is unpretentious, inexpensive, but outstanding. Everything prepared by the chef (a specialist in sauces) in the kitchen. The best steak I have had in years. A good list of local wines, and well chosen vin ordinaire by the carafe. Fondant des noisettes from the local trees, and crème anglaise made by the chef from vanilla pods - the antidote to custard powder. Ask for a glass of the local liqueur de noisette to pour over the fondant. This is a restaurant like they used to be in the Dordogne half a century ago, but have all but disappeared. Put this wonderful little restaurant with its few, but excellent, hotel rooms, on your itinerary!

After another very warm and mostly (it seemed) uphill cycle from Agen we all arrived at this wonderful, rustic country oasis with a bonus pool, and yes we did use it. Our host was lovely and couldn’t do enough to get us settled in. Rooms were comfortable and well appointed. But the big plus was her home cooked dinner she prepared for the four of us that evening. It was both very delicious and plentiful, we just provided the vino, which is not hard to come by in the Bordeaux region. If you ever are in need of a night respite along the way there please consider this charming place.

What a special place , the kids will never forget there trip to moulin de rouze, we had a great 2 night stay left feeling totally relaxed, the children loved exploring around the property, amazing inside and had everything you would need .

The property was beautiful and fully equipped to feel completely comfortable. The garden and land around was amazing and our little boy loved running around. The owners have thought of everything to ensure the stay is enjoyable and comfortable.

- The pool and its area are absolutely perfect. With pool service (drinks and ice cream)! - The breakfast is varied and delicious. - The staff (Isabel & Leona) are incredibly friendly and helpful without being pushy in any way. - We had a mini fridge in the room and the staff provided us with plates and cutlery, we could have lunch or dinner with some food we brought. - Great dinner options in Villereal (at a 10 minute drive). - The castle is gorgeous! And so are the views.
