Parking in a private garage is available on site at an extra cost. Cahors Train Station is a 10-minute walk from the hotel. The breakfast was a typical French breakfast with a wide range of fruit, breads and pastries, eggs and cereals as well as coffee.

Nothing too much trouble. Did our laundry for €5 a load. Breakfasts were fantastic, lots to eat with good coffee. Highly recommended. 5 min walk to tram. Host restaurant recommendations were very good.

Chateau de Monrecour is just 12 km from the medieval town of Sarlat and its cathedral, whose belfry dates from the 9th century. For guests who arrive by car, free private parking is available. The staff and the hotel are just excellent, the grounds and Chateau are amazing. Staff have attention to detail such as they'd put the Air Con on hours before we arrived at our room, with 36c temps, it was awesome to walk into a cool room. The staff were super-friendly & helpful, although it's location means you'd ideally need to drive anywhere (nearest village is not a safe walk on the main road), we've never felt the need to leave the place when using their amazing restaurant. We stayed mainly because of the restaurant, and it didn't disappoint us a 2nd time we've stayed here. We stayed at 8 hotels in 8 nights and this is probably the best, and ironically one of the cheapest - it's such good value. The pool was a perfect temperature too.

The grounds are almost magical, they're really beautiful. Especially at sunset. The location is perfect- walking distance to the top of the Chateau at Rocamadour - it's about a 30-40 minute walk through gorgeous countryside, along vineyards, farms and old paths. Or you can rent electric bikes from Rocamadour and just explore everywhere. We did this for two days and it was so much fun. The owners of the hotel are very knowledgable about the area and quite happy to share their knowledge. Definitely ask them! Without question, we'll stay here again. It actually exceeded our expectations. I have to add, the breakfast was very good- all local and fresh products- completely a treat.
