This is not so much a pension as a self-catering apartment on a considerable scale. Largely open-plan, it has a walled off king-size-bed, a dining area and kitchen/living room along with a generous walk-in shower room. The fridge was supplied with a bottle of fizzy mineral water, a small bottle of fizzy white wine and a bottle of beer, gratis. Everything was clean, quite new and easy to use. The wi-fi was efficient. Walking from Stat Wehlen station involves a very steep, but picturesque climb up 250 steps and stiff slopes to get to the top of the Elbe valley; once up it is a pleasant couple of miles through a small town and rolling countryside.

All in all a pleasant stay, close to Königstein Fortress. The room had linens, towels, soap and shampoo, hair dryer. For an additional fee, you can order breakfast - 13 euros per person ( not included). Also near the hotel is a kiosk where you can buy sausage and potatoes, beer and more.
