This was my second stay at the Hotel-Restaurant Zum Stern. Great communication! prior to arrival we received a message with a code to the key safe for our room key for after hours. Room was immaculate. We also received a registration form and selection form for breakfast. filled out both and just dropped it int the hotel mailbox. Beds were very comfortable and room was quiet. Next morning our breakfast was ready for us at the restaurant below. Staff was very nice and attentive. We didn’t eat dinner here this time but we did before many times, when we lived in the area, and have never been disappointment by quality of food or service. There was an issue with our pre-payment. For some reason the hotel didn’t receive the payment from booking.com even though we had already been charged. we had to pay for the room at the site again but this was not the hotels fault but an error from booking.com. the owner reassured us that this issue will be resolved and we will get either payment refunded. She confirmed via booking.com messages that she sent in a refund request and to contact her if needed.

This was PERFECT! Sabine Pees will make you feel right at home. As I was a solo traveler, she checked in on me frequently and was friendly and provided great information about the Baumholder area. Very easy to communicate with. If you need anything, she owns the shop below and you can stop in and ask. It was nice to have a friendly face that will wave to you as you walk by. The location is right in the middle of the town and is walking distance to local shops and restaurants. Bonus is a bakery across the street that has amazing pastries as well as sandwiches if you get there early enough. Coffee shop is around the corner also! If you don't have a car you can also walk to (2) grocery stores or catch the local bus. Remember that shops/grocery are not open on Sundays. The apartment is much better in person than the photos. Each morning you will see the beautiful landscape and the quiet little street from the front. The apartment is impeccably clean and the kitchen is stocked with the basics you would want. Bedroom was comfortable and the bathroom spacious. For Americans traveling to the area during the colder times the radiator in the bathroom doubles as a towel warmer. Of Note: Something to mention but was never an issue whatsoever; you will share a common entrance area with another tenant who resides above. All of your doors have their own keyed lock because they open to the common entrance area. The tenant was also quiet, respectful and you will most likely never see them. Fortunately for me, I did meet the tenant and was given very valuable information about the area. I will be back and because of Sabine it will be sooner than later.

We stayed for one night and had 2 rooms. The rooms were a good size. The beds were comfortable. There is a shared bathroom but it’s very clean and we didn’t mind sharing as it was just us. As for the breakfast, we didn’t get a chance to eat but the restaurant looked clean and had ample seating. Also the hotel is next to the train tracks, which didn’t bother us.

David was great at suggesting places to visit. the apartment was super cute and comfortable. David checked in with us several times throughout the week to see if we needed anything. Highly recommend!

I really cannot say enough nice things about this hotel and the staff. I had a great room (room 402) overlooking the southern end of town. The room had a microwave and a small refrigerator. The nice lady at reception was kind enough to provide a coffee maker for me as well. The room is quite large (it was a few Euro more, but well worth it!) and it has three windows. The electric Rolladen was very nice to have. The service was spot-on. I was left alone unless I needed assistance and assistance was graciously provided when I required it.
