Excellent location, small traditional mountain village with vineyards tradition, unique landscape. Good local food in nearby restaurants. The area is like Tuscany, without the hype. Local red wines are of high quality, try any of them with trust. The people at the property are very kind and helpful, but they hardly understand English. Some basic Slav language skills are required.

Perfect location overviewing the city from above. Clean rooms. Breakfast was simple, but tasty. Parking spots provided. The restaurant was perfectly fine for dinner. We didn’t try out the sauna and steam bath, but played some table tennis.

Beautiful outdoor space, a lot of greenery and nice seating areas to enjoy meals. Great breakfast, good dinner options. The place is very close to Melnik and wineries, though you will need a car to reach anywhere.

Apartment was big and restaurant's food is awesome. Parking is on the street, no issue with finding a spot.
AC was just in the living room - if hot, a bit uncomfortable sleeping.
When we do a trip to visit that area of Bulgaria, this is the place we'll stay at.
We were traveling from Greece to Romania via Bulgaria, and Makenzen Hotel was a very good spot to rest one night, So we liked the location, the beautiful garden, the style of the building, the food and the stuff are excellent and the price was fair enough. There is a big free parking and a big pool for adults and kids. There is also a small river with nature sound!
Family apartment is very comfortable, with 2 double beds and 1 single bed, large rooms, quiet, fully equiped kitchen and clean.

Perfect location, enough places for street parking, host family, owner´s wine - the best I tried in Bulgaria. The room was relatively small but there was enough room to sit outside with a fantastic view.
The hotel is 5’ on foot to Melnik in a green zone and you can find it easily. It has a big private and free parking, a reception always open, a large restaurant and many common areas.
The weather was quite warm so we didn’t use either heating or air conditioning.
We didn’t try the restaurant for dinner.
I liked the breakfast very much: yogurt, jam and fruit in syrup were delicious.
Very good value for money
Slavova krepost is a great option for our weekend trip in Melnik. We were welcomed so warm from our hosts and we had a blast of information what to do in the area. At first scared from the steep streets of the old town, we were pleasantly surprised by the property`s very own underground parking.
No words to describe this beautiful place. Everything is perfect, way over everything you can expect in a small village near the border between Bulgaria and Greece. Attention to detail is flawless. The villa we were hosted in was spotless and superb. They even had amenities for our 5YO boy (shampoo and shower gel for kids), as they knew we were coming with a kid. Bonus points for the EV Charging Station available in the parking lot.
