I was hesitant to book this resort initially as there was only 1 recent review when I booked, and the older reviews of the original hotel were not that good. However, I decided to take a chance and I'm so glad I did!!! The resort is newly renovated and all the furnishings and decor are all very clean and new. The resort location was ideal as I wanted to be located near Mifuneyama Rakuen so I could go see the Autumn colours at night (only 6 min drive away). The facilities on the resort were fantastic.... the spa pool required swimsuits which the resort thoughtfully prepared for each guest, all packed in individual tote bags. The hot spring pool was a a bit small, but the resort was not packed when we stayed, so there were no other people around when we used the spa pool or hot spring. But what impressed me the most has to be the amazing service we received. Most of the staff did not speak English or could only speak minimal English, but they always tried their best to understand our needs, and made us feel so comfortable. The staff's dedication and service quality are top-notch. The food was so amazing as well (The sukiyaki dinner and Japanese breakfast included in the stay were so good!)

Everything is good view food I'll be back.

Boasting spacious hot spring baths overlooking Ureshino River, historic Ryokan Omuraya provides traditional accommodation fitted with tatami (woven-straw) flooring and serves a carefully prepared multi-course Japanese dinner. The staff at Ryokan Oomuraya were very nice and accommodating. The staff had a good level of English, and were very helpful with recommendations and offering information. The room was spacious and comfortable. The public bath was very nice and not crowded, and it had a view of the river. Especially nice in the morning. Also they let guests make a reservation to use the private onsen (bath) for one hour. Don't forget to try the green tea beer at the bar for a local Ureshino-style treat!

On-site parking is free. installation art everywhere inside the hotel, the view from 9F is satisfying. there’s lots to do in the hotel (bath / gallery / bookshop / tea saloon etc.)
