The house is in a quiet location with excellent kitchen facilities. However, the exact house location is a little hard to find due to many side track/junction. We are lucky to meet a local who advise us the exact location of the house.

The buffet had a very wide selection of food and it certainly exceeded my expectations. There was also free drinks at the longue for guests and it's the first time I've come across a hotel that does that! The onsen was also very spacious and there are 4 baths in total (2 indoors and 2 outdoors) and a sauna too!

Food is superb, Staff very friendly and helpful and the hot spring simple but authentic. We would definitely come back to experience winter in this ryokan.
Featuring traditional Japanese hot springs known as ‘onsen’, these hotels allow you to take a relaxing soak in therapeutic geothermal waters. Traditionally, onsens were located outdoors but a number of hotels also offer indoor facilities for private or shared use. The healing properties of each onsen will vary depending on its location, with ‘kuroyu’ black water known for its positive effects on skin.
Set in the peaceful TogattaOnsen, a very rural town. The area is easier to explore by car. The food was unbelievably good, we did half board, enjoying both breakfast and dinner Japanese style. The service was excellent, all the staff were so helpful, even with my limited Japanese. If you want a relaxing place, this is it, they have both public and private baths available (private is extra cost).
The onsen was an OK experience. Although nothing special, and suffering from the same maintenance issues as the rest, the outdoor hot spring was quite cosy.
Also, sheets and room was fairly clean (although smelling smoke), and no bed bugs or anything similar.
We were supposed to stay for 2 nights, but because my mother could not stay in her room due to the asthma, we left after 1 night. For this, the hotel was kind enough to refund the 2nd night. Which deserves mention. That increases the score.
I like the view that surrounds the hotel. It feels nice like as an escape from the busy life of metro areas. The Onsen was amazing and definitely exceeded my expectations (it's my first time at an Onsen).
