We loved our time here. Service was friendly but always efficient and professional. Everything we needed for a fabulous ski holiday was literally right at our door step. Breakfast and dinner were included and these meals were generous and catered to all tastes. The onsen experience was precious. There is nothing like the hot pool outside with snowflakes swirling down around you!
Featuring traditional Japanese hot springs known as ‘onsen’, these hotels allow you to take a relaxing soak in therapeutic geothermal waters. Traditionally, onsens were located outdoors but a number of hotels also offer indoor facilities for private or shared use. The healing properties of each onsen will vary depending on its location, with ‘kuroyu’ black water known for its positive effects on skin.

Lovely light-filled apartment with great mountain views. Very clean with comfortable beds and well appointed kitchen. Great location, handy to shops and onsens. Staff were very friendly and helpful.
The staff were very helpful and recommended restaurants and hot springs (onsen) near the guesthouse. The room is pleasant and clean, and the breakfast is complete and satisfying. I am grateful to the staff for their exceptional service, especially for preparing a vegan menu and dessert for me. I highly recommend this guesthouse and look forward to returning.
This lodge style accommodation was great for our family of four, with two teenage boys. Amazing full breakfast served each morning, mix of traditional and western style options. Small private Onsen bath for use of guests. Easy walk to various public Onsen. Easy walk to restaurants and convenience stores. Our host was a delight. Very helpful, and when my son hurt his knee snowboarding, she was very helpful in arranging transport for us. Shared common room with couch and table where we could eat take-away meals. Drying room downstairs.
Lovely, welcoming ryokan very close to the Nagasaka gondola and ski hire shops ( less than 5 min walk) with a delicious and varied breakfast served every morning. There is a very soothing onsen in the building. An easy walk down into the town centre and to the bus terminal. Excellent, good value place to stay in Nozawa Onsen
the location was great. About a 5-minute walk to the Nozawa Onsen Nagasaki gondola. It was also pretty well located in the city and close to several hot springs in the area. I think there are more than 10 you can go to for free. There is also a spring in the bathing room that can be used in the evenings. The area and the hotel are very quiet and quite relaxing. There is also space in the basement for your snowboard or skis, drying racks, and a changing area. All in all quite good with location, services etc.
The onsen was so cool! It seemed like it was dirty/ smelly but it was the natural Sulfur heating the hot spring water, an awesome experience! The black stuff in the water was ash!! It was clean!! The staff were so good and cared so much about our experience, waiting up for us to arrive at 10:30pm! They then also took us and our luggage to our next accommodations!

Heater worked well and there was complementary hot spring supplies. The staff was very friendly on check-in and check-out and the place has an elevator too if you have some heavy baggage.

The miso soup & Chicken Onigiri breakfast was very nice. We were given detailed notes on the availability of the local public onsen but decided to stick with the our Ryokan's onsen as it was private, very clean and quiet and brilliant given our own time limitations. The parking (JPY500) was immediately opposite the Ryokan, easily accessed and clear of snow. Also appreciated the high level of cleanliness of the establishment.
The kinda accommodation where you wish you could stay indoors the whole day. Full service hotel that feels like a homely apartment and rather unassuming from the outside.
They had great tea time treats and also helped us book reservations at a nearby restaurant for dinner which seem to be quite popular.
We also had a dip at the hotel's own hot spring which is fed by real onsen sources. After the super hot ones we tried outside, this felt rather lukewarm!
It s an absolutely amazing place. The building was recently renovated, the lobby and rooms are very clean and inviting. Excellent rooms with everything you would need. Private onsen is on the first floor. Very nice breakfast. Super friendly and knowledgeable staff. Very close to the center of the village and ski lifts. Hope to stay in this place again in the near future.
