Location was a good mid-way stop for me - and it made a change to have a bed rather than a futon! Onsen was great with an outdoor section as well. Dinner was thoroughly enjoyable.

Good breakfast with buffet style, women's public bath needed special key card so men would not be able to enter. Very cheap coin laundry. Microwave for heating up food. Possibility to decline daily room cleaning.

Featuring traditional Japanese hot springs known as ‘onsen’, these hotels allow you to take a relaxing soak in therapeutic geothermal waters. Traditionally, onsens were located outdoors but a number of hotels also offer indoor facilities for private or shared use. The healing properties of each onsen will vary depending on its location, with ‘kuroyu’ black water known for its positive effects on skin.

Offering hot-spring baths, a karaoke bar and a restaurant with fresh seafood, Hoseikan is 2 km from Tama-tsukuri Onsen Train Station. Rooms are Japanese-style, with futon bedding and a bathtub.
Opposite of the JR station but you need to pass the underground tunnel (exit D) - there is no crossing on ground level.
Rooms were new and quite big (can fully open suitcase and have space to walk. There is an artificial hot spring which was nice and you can view the crowd status from your in-room TV.
Great money for value and hot spring facility. The public hot spring is large and has both indoor and outdoor bath. The price is very reasonable compare to its facility. The hotel provides shuttle bus service from and to JR station. One may also choose to walk from / to JR station as there is a walk path along the river.
Great location just opposite the station. Convenience store just next to the hotel as well. Staffs are very very helpful and friendly. My friend left her scarf at an Onsen Ryokan in Tamatsukuri Onsen and a staff called them for us to check if they found a scarf. When we asked a nice cafe near the hotel, she copied a map and circled the cafe on the map and gave the map to me. The staffs went the extra miles to help us. Big bath is also very nice although it's an artificial Onsen.
This hotel was unlike any other we visited ( 13 in total during our trip!). Firstly, shoes are taken off before you reach the reception desk..this really sets the tone. The rooms were spacious ( we had a standard queen room) and you could actually open the windows to get fresh air in the room which was also a first! The Onsen was fantastic, very clean and well equipped and was open all night. All robes, socks, toiletries etc.. were provided. Just a lovely place.
This was a luxurious treat and we all enjoyed it from the welcome by the general manager, the hot spring bath, the food, the room. One of our group had a massage which was very good and reasonably priced. Breakfast was an amazing buffet of Japanese and Western dishes. The hotel provided transport by shuttle bus to and from the hotel. Communications via booking.com worked well.
This is a really great stay for my trip. The hotel room is so lovely, clean and comfortable. The hot spring is very nice with ice cream as free service. They also provide free noodles during 9:30PM to 11PM. Besides, their washing machine is free of charge (drying machine with additional fee). Although the hotel is not by JR station, it is just 2 mins walk from bus station, super convenient. Plus, there is a LAWSON with 2-min walk. They take care of everything detail for your stay. I would come back for sure.
Very thoughtful hotel. Offer guests to use washing machine that is located inside the onsen locker. So you can put your laundry and enjoy the onsen .
Very clean and comfortable . Room is nicely design and spacious .
Great location in Matsue. Moder building with a classic Japanese style, everything is Tatami mats from the entrance to your room. Multiple elevators for quick access to any floor. Free amenities (toothbrush etc.), free snacks and manga to read in the hot springs. Large, multiple spring baths with different temperature. Large lounge on the first floor. Rooms are large and well furnished with a table, and a coffee table with a small sofa.
I really like the free evening Soba and morning yakult at the hot spring! The hotel is conveniently located in central Matsue near several good restaurants. You can walk to Matsue Castle and nearby temples. There are also some very nice craft stores 10 minutes down the road.
