    Quite simply this is the best deal in Solvang. We've stayed BUNCHES of times. Also, occasionally, we've stayed in other (MUCH more expensive) places in town. Solvang is charming, and we stop / drive through overnight several times a year. The Hamlet is a motel - not a fancy hotel -- but right in the middle of everything. The rooms are simple Scandinavian style, and have recently been renovated. It couldn't be more convenience, and free parking RIGHT in front of your room. Also, free bikes to use when going around town.

    The property was originally built as a motor lodge common in the late 1920s. Recent improvements have made the property fresh and charming. The local management and staff are professional and quick to accommodate guest needs.

    We were pleasantly surprised that the rooms have been recently remodeled. All of the pictures on their site are old and do not do justice to the motel. They remodeled the rooms with new floors, modern light fixtures, soft LED lighting. new shower, lavy, and new efficent Samsung Mini Split heater / AC. The breakfast consisted of a freshly baked traditional hard roll (the raisin roll was delicious), coffee, orange juice, and Danish pastry which you select from the bakery across the street. The bakery has a dining room.

    It was so cute! We love vintage motels and this one is terrific! Nicely updated with comfy beds, plenty of warm covers and really great folks in the office. Would stay here again for sure.

    For the price they charged, for a rehabbed Motel -6 reject. Sorry for our anniversary, compared to the other choices this was an overpriced mistake.

    Room was very spacious and clean, and there was a fridge, coffee maker, kettle and microwave. The location was fabulous, just in the middle of Solvang. There is a free parking space at the back

    They have a few danishes in the morning, the staff is really nice and the rooms are, "roomy". We love staying here and the pool and hot tub are such a bonus! It's my favorite motel in Solvang.
