The motel backs onto the river which is nice. However, the motel itself is in a not so nice part of the town.

This is an old fashioned motel. If you’re not looking for luxury I recommend it. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The people are very helpful. It had everything we wanted.

Great location and nice ocean view. The parking was excellent if towing a trailer as it was along the road in full view of the motel room.

Great view. clean kitchenette and overall cleanliness was good. Bed and furniture was comfortable if a little old. Friendly and helpful staff. The motel is popular with work crews it seems because it provides the necessities without fuss. Parking is as convenient as it gets.

We travel to Campbell River often and have stayed at numerous motels but the Big Rock is our favourite. Current owners are top- notch keeping the place in good shape and helping when they can!

I already sent an e-mail to you explaining that my Daughter got very ill and we had to drive back to Victoria, I went to the motel and told them that I had to cancel because of the circumstances with my Daughter, they told me the charges already went through and nothing they could do, I went there at 10:30 am.

The Big Rock Motel is perfect for an overnight stay. The rooms are pretty standard, but are clean and well-maintained. The motel is only five minutes from the centre of town and, though it is on the coastal highway, it is set far enough back from the road that traffic noise is not an issue.

The proximity of the River to the Motel is fantastic and the Salmon Fishing is second to none.
