Breakfast is served in the chateau's ballroom, which is decorated with tapestries and features a large stone fireplace. During nice weather, guest can enjoy breakfast on the terrace, which has a view of the 15th-century Chateau des Milandes. We were upgraded to a lovely room in the chateau itself with stunning views over the surrounding country side and the nearby chateaus of Beynac and Les Milandes. The breakfast was entirely adequate with a good choice and the restaurant was excellent, beautifully presented food by friendly and attentive staff.

The property is set 2.9 km from Lascaux, 1.5 km from Lascaux IV and 27 km from The Gardens of Eyrignac. Providing free WiFi throughout the property, the non-smoking hotel features an indoor pool. This is by far the most memorable stay I’ve had in the past decade, this hotel is a prime example of smart design. Everything in the room was thoroughly studied. Reclaimed wood and furniture was smartly repurposed. It was an  unforgettable experience to live and experience how environmentally designed spaces can be so comfortable and joyous !!

Set in Thiviers, Le Belvédère is a beautiful private property which provides free WiFi, and guests can enjoy a garden and a terrace.

The accommodation comes with a flat-screen TV and a private bathroom with bath. The location was finé and the host attentive. Breakfast was continental (toast, croissant, pain au chocolat, yoghurt, coffee or tea). We chose to eat in for dinner, and the first night’s meal was excellent. The host had to be away from the hotel the next day so the meal was not of the same standard, but we would eat in again on a future visit.

Decorated in a classic style, the air-conditioned rooms at Hotel Le Centenaire feature a TV, minibar and free Wi-Fi access. Each one also provides an en suite bathroom, which is complete with a bath, a hairdryer and free toiletries. Room was wonderful==the size, the decor, the outside deck/patio, the shower. The staaff were extremely friendly and helpful in every way imaginable. The outside landscaping and pool were very nice also, aa was the location.

The Chateau De Lalande is a traditional hotel in elegant surroundings, 12 km from Périgueux. It offers an outdoor pool, free Wi-Fi and large, peaceful grounds.

Guest rooms at the Chateau De Lalande are air-conditioned. They include en suite facilities, a flat-screen TV, telephone and safe. Very peaceful, excellent breakfast and dinner

Moulin de Vigonac is set in a former 16th-century watermill, cradled by the river Dronne and located in Brantôme, often named the Venice of the Dordogne region. The hotel boasts an outdoor swimming pool, restaurant, terrace and a tree-filed park. Wonderful family run operation on a gorgeous 7 acre property. Rooms were very comfortable, quiet (soundproofed) and with great air conditioning. Oliver, the property manager, is the owners son and is extremely personable, multi - lingual, and very knowledgeable. He gave us a great overview of the property and the region with highlights we should make sure to see. His mom and dad are integral parts of the facility and Dad is the restaurant chef. The food is superb. Enjoyed our dinners immensely and breakfast is more than you could ask for. Highly recommend this property.

Moulin de L'Abbaye is in the market town of Brantôme, in Périgord. It offers rooms with air-conditioning, a flat-screen TV, a safety deposit box and free WiFi.

Brantôme village is considered the “Venice of Périgord”. You will discover the cultural and natural wealth of Périgord. First of all after our tour of the whole of France, and staying in 12 hotels...5 stars mainly, only 2 properties exceeded our expectations.One of them was the idyllic Moulin de Abbaye and the dreamy dreamy dreamy location and environment they have created. It feels like a little forest fairy tale. Each corner of the small property is touched and cared to detail. From the moulin, to the gardens, the grass, the green, the window for breakfast and the dinner setting. Next time I will try and get the top room with bath tub, since I bet will be even more amazing. We had an exceptional stay on the 2 rooms we rented, and will recommend with no doubt this dreamy place to couples in honeymoon or seeking for romance in France.
