Access codes changed at the last minute which made things confusing. There were a lot of maintenance issues. Door frame loose, lamps next to bed on their last legs, side board in entrance falling to pieces, toaster caused fire alarm to go off due to safety switch not working. Light next to bed was a disco light (flicked from red, blue, pink…. Not a reading lamp). Just a bit shabby and definitely not a luxury apartment. It was stressful having to find somewhere to park and then find the apartment to get the garage key. The car park is as a good size. Milk and decent coffee would have been welcome.

I had an incredible stay at this gorgeous place. The house looks even more stunning in person than in the pictures, and it truly exceeded my expectations. The host was an absolute delight, even better than the reviews suggested. They made me feel like part of the family from the moment I arrived. The jacuzzi experience was top-notch, with clear instructions provided, making it easy to enjoy a relaxing soak. The location couldn't be more convenient—just a short walk to the train station and the city center. The host's warm and kind-hearted nature made my stay unforgettable. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a comfortable and welcoming stay!

Room was absolutely beautiful, the pub itself is also a really beautiful place. The landlord and lady are incredibly welcoming and even joined us for a drink in the evening! Breakfast was outstanding.

If you’re looking to treat yourself, a high-end hotel will provide that extra something special to make your trip even more memorable. These five-star properties feature lavish luxuries such as on-site restaurants with sweeping city views, in-room massage and spacious private terraces. They often have a central location which makes exploring the main sights a breeze.
Check-in instructions were clear, I met Helen at the estates office 30 minutes ahead of my check-in time. I then met Josie who upgraded us from a 'Butlers apartment' to 'the Pavillion' which was absolutely outstanding! We both had a wonderful sleep in the outrageously massive and comfortable beds. I particulatly enjoyed reading a book and watching the peacock mooching around the rose garden in the morning. I would highly recommend Avington estate to anyone looking for a bit of luxury and old world charm in Winchester.
Everything was superb, there's not a single thing I could criticise. The room (and the entire building) was beautiful and well-appointed as well as spotlessly clean. It seemed newly refurbished and everything was shiny and working perfectly, with an added bonus of free, top-quality filter coffee and chocolate biscuits. Both the evening meal and breakfast were perfect and the staff accommodated all of my requests without question. Amazing ❤️
Quaint, comfortable and the location was perfect. The breakfast was 5 stars for us in a cold English December morning. The staff were brilliant with helping with ideas for dinner and best walk to town for the Christmas markets to take in the river and old Roman walls.
The warm welcome we received from the moment we arrived set the standard for our wonderful stay at The Winchester Hotel & Spa .The staff were all fabulous, the Christmas decor was both modern & charming and the food delicious. The Spa gave a welcome break from shopping & the Saturday evening meal outstanding. A perfect weekend away. Special thanks to Castiel, the Manager who leads by example delivering 5 star customer service. We can't wait to return.
Room was spacious, and the bed was comfortable. We had a superb dinner, prepared and presented to perfection and the following morning had an excellent breakfast. The staff were friendly and extremely efficient.
This is as close to perfection as it comes! The service was amazing; all members of staff were friendly and welcoming, there were enough staff so nothing felt rushed and our waitress for the evening meal had time to chat with us. The room was beautiful, everything had been thought of, it was comfortable and spacious. The food was just superb, beautifully presented, delicious and decent-sized portions. And Crawley is an idyllic Hampshire village and easily accessible for Winchester (although there are only three buses a day).
The food at the hotel was good quality. The breakfast was outstanding. Special mention to Chris the breakfast chef she was amazing. She ran the hot breakfast station on her own and nothing was much too trouble.
