Oudtshoorn
Riverside Guest Lodge offers panoramic views of Grobbelaars River and Swartberg Mountains. It offers air-conditioned rooms and wooden cottages. There is a main deck with a splash pool, a bar, and a barbecue. We had a truly amazing stay at the Riverside Guest Lodge during our two-week vacation in South Africa! Albert and Elza are innkeepers that take great pride in the property and in what they do. This shows through 1000% in the experience guests receive when they book a stay. Prior to check-in, you receive information such as directions to the property, road conditions, and any diversion / closure warnings that are a huge help to the international traveller. The property itself is beautiful and well-placed, settled close to the main thoroughfare and up against a quaint little river. I really enjoyed lounging on the deck by the small pool and grabbing a couple of drinks from the well-stocked bar. The dining room was also very charming, even though we did not have time to enjoy breakfast. The guest room itself was also supremely comfortable and clean - a perfect resting place after a long day's drive and adventuring. Little touches like the bottle of water and chocolates, the honesty-system at the bar, and even the welcome 'tour' we got from Albert really made this place feel so welcoming and homely. Finally, the fact that they have solar panels setup means you barely, if ever, feel the effects of loadshedding -- a very very welcome benefit! Check-out was smooth and went off without a hitch. I was also pleasantly surprised that there was staff on hand that would give the cars a wash-down which we sorely needed after a few days of driving on gravel roads. I certainly would recommend this place to anyone visiting or passing through Oudtshoorn.

Beautiful lodging with attention to detail make this a special place. A very spacious house with wrap around veranda. Spotlessly clean with complimentary fresh flowers in the living area, rusks and coffee. Big, fully equipped kitchen. The game farm is set against one mountain range with a view over another. We enjoyed game and bird viewing on foot. The quests to the lodge are the only occupants on the farm. The night skies as only in the Karoo. We will be back
Beautiful, comfortable tented lodges that merge into the scenery. Food was fantastic, game drives incredible and the entire team at the property were firat rate!
What an extraordinary experience from the beautiful Tilney Lodge with its huge modern rooms and great views to the safari experience with Jordan our guide.
Our two days are Klein Karoo Game Lodge were absolutely fantastic. The service was excellent. We loved the location and the free-roaming animals. The spacious and modern mountain-view rooms were a pleasant surprise. The highlight for our family was the animals!
Beautifully quiet and peaceful location with springbok and meerkats regularly coming by to say hello! Despite the very rural location, some way down a gravel track from the owners house, it felt very secure. We ate at Bella Cibo, which was excellent and at Nostalgia which had excellent service and lovely South African dishes. Both were extremely busy and reservations are definitely advisable. We also loved eating dinner and breakfast at Buffelsdrift Game Lodge, overlooking the water hole, where we saw both hippo and giraffe!
Gorgeous lodges, excellent service, beautiful country, knowledgeable safari guides. Our stay exceeded all expectations!
The lodge is nicely located, close to Oudtshoorn but it still feels like in the middle of nature. The staff members were very kind and helpful. We stayed in a charming bungalow next to a little pond, it was a different kind of lodging experience which was nice. We enjoyed the food at the restaurant and breakfast was good, too. It‘s nice to go for a walk around the hotel to see the different animals.
This is an excellent luxury safari. The food is brilliant and the staff are amazing. We really enjoyed the game drives and saw plenty of animals, in particular, a cheetah feeding on a springbok she had just killed. Our guide, Jordan, was very knowledgeable and made sure each game drive was worthwhile. We stayed in Dwyka Lodge and the rooms were beautiful with a very private terrace which had a plunge pool
Wonderful lodge with nice tents and friendly stuff! The meat (steak) had excellent quality!!! Definitely do the night safari! good price-performance-ratio!
The breakfast was excellent. We were on our way back staying at 5 star game lodges and the breakfast we the best we had our entire trip!
